Cape Companies Get Matching Workforce Training Grants

Two Cape companies are among 37 statewide that received $2.8 million in workforce training matching grants Wednesday, to be used to train more than 3,100 employees around the state.

The recipients include Bourne-based Onset Computer Corp. and Pocasset-based Globe Interconnect, according to the state Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.

Onset Computer Corp. was awarded $122,200. The state said the money will fund training for 123 employees, with five new jobs expected to be created as a result of training.

Twelve employees are expected to receive training at Globe Interconnect, with two new jobs created, the state said. Globe Interconnect was awarded $33,600.
